6:00pm - 9:00pm

800 West Cummings Park, 4th Floor, Suite 4750

Woburn, MA 01801

See below for directions.

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! THE EVENT HAS SOLD OUT. EVERYONE ON THE WAITING LIST HAS BEEN ADDED.

This event will explore the following:

  • Why SEO is an important component of a social media marketing strategy
  • What are SEOs doing with social media on behalf of their clients
  • What are some of the tools being used by SEOs for social media optimization

Social Media Club Boston events are a little different than other panel events. We begin with a half hour of networking, where food and drink are usually served. The panel lasts about an hour, and is followed by 30-45 minutes of break-out sessions, where you have the opportunity to meet in a smaller group with the panelist of your choice. At each breakout session, recorders are nominated, who at the end of the program recap for the whole group some key takeaways from each breakout session. This makes for a more interactive--and hopefully entertaining--program.

Our moderator for the event will be Amanda Watlington, the owner of Searching for Profit , a search marketing consultancy focusing on the interaction of the consumer with businesses, using search engines, RSS, blogs, podcasting, or other new media to deliver their messages. An industry thought leader and an internationally-recognized speaker, Amanda has led sessions on search marketing, web strategy, and social media at Search Engine Strategies, Webmaster World, AdTech, and DMA. She shares her views of where search marketing is headed at her own blog, Blogs and Feeds, and as a blogger for Search Engine Watch.

Amanda will be joined by a panel of experts that includes:

  • Thom Brodeur, Senior Vice President, Global Strategy and Development, Marketwire
  • Greg Jarboe, President and Co-Founder of SEO-PR search engine optimization firm and public relations agency with offices in San Francisco and Boston
  • Andrew Komack, founder and president of KoMarketing Associates, LLC
  • Sherwood Stranieri, Director of SEO at SMG Search a division of Starcom Mediavest Group

Thom Brodeur is responsible at Marketwire for strategic partnership opportunities, new product development, and media relations worldwide.

Greg Jarboe, in addition to his role as President and CoFounder of SEO-PR, is also a partner in Newsforce, developer of an integrated suite of press release SEO tools. He frequent speaker at Search Engine Strategies, WebmasterWorld's PubCon, and public relations conferences. He is also the news search, blog search, and PR correspondent for the Search Engine Watch Blog.

Andy Komack, the founder of KoMarketing Associates, LLC is an online marketing services firm based in Waltham, MA, with specialties in search engine marketing, email marketing, and website strategy and usability.

Sherwood Stranieri has been at the forefront of search engine optimization for nearly a decade. He has consulted for several top SEO agencies in the Northeast, introducing them to innovative optimization techniques and strategies that are now considered "SEO best practices".
