Social Media Club Princeton NJ Region Volunteers Needed!
The Social Media Club Princeton NJ Region is looking for help shaping the future of social media in central New Jersey. We have identified a few roles that we needed support filling. To be eligible to sit on a directors position, we need you to be an active participant and regular attendee of our monthly meetups prior to volunteering. All Leadership Board members are required to attend two additional planning sessions per month (one in person, one via Skype).

Social Media Club Princeton NJ Region Leadership Board:
Programming Director – Lynette Young
At the heart of the Social Media Club are great interactive events. The Programming Director manages all aspects of the activity calendar for the club. This person is responsible for:
- Developing and managing the schedule of events, including monthly public meetings and Leadership Board meetings
- Managing the Social Media Club Princeton NJ Region digital properties, including the blog, wiki, social technology, and email list
- Keeping financial records
- Identifying topics and speakers for upcoming events
- Coordinating with the Leadership Board to secure speakers and identify venues for each event
- Welcome and greet all meetup attendees as part of the Leadership Board
Membership Director – Katie DeVito
The Membership Director is responsible for several member-related roles:
- Managing the membership list of the Social Media Club Princeton NJ Region
- New member outreach initiatives
- Promoting memberships with local and national media outlets
- Identifying topics and speakers for upcoming events
- Coordinating with the Leadership Board to secure speakers and identify venues for each event
- Welcome and greet all meetup attendees as part of the Leadership Board
Public Relations Director – Nick DeVito
Promotion is key to the ultimate success of our organization–and the earlier the better! The Promotions Director is responsible for:
- Promoting future events through all digital and traditional channels
- Recording, writing recaps and sharing audio and video from events
- Live Tweeting/Facebook updates during events
- Identifying topics and speakers for upcoming events
- Coordinating with the Leadership Board to secure speakers and identify venues for each event
- Welcome and greet all meetup attendees as part of the Leadership Board
Partnership Director – Open
Our activities wouldn’t be possible without partners. We partner with other businesses and organizations to find venues and sponsors for future activities. The Partnership Director manages the relationships with local businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring or hosting upcoming activities. This person is responsible for:
- Identifying co-sponsorship opportunities with local marketing and technology organizations
- Identifying and managing the relationships with past and future event sponsors, co-sponsors and venues
- Identifying topics and speakers for upcoming events
- Coordinating with the Leadership Board to secure speakers and identify venues for each event
- Welcome and greet all meetup attendees as part of the Leadership Board
Production Director – Open
The Production Director is responsible for all aspects of event execution, including:
- Preparing the event program for each public event, including agenda, speakers bio and general group ‘housekeeping’
- Coordinating food and drink with event sponsors and/or venue
- Staffing and managing event registration
- Managing giveaways and all-other on-site activities
- Recording minutes at Leadership Board meetings
- Identifying topics and speakers for upcoming events
- Coordinating with the Leadership Board to secure speakers and identify venues for each event
- Welcome and greet all meetup attendees as part of the Leadership Board
