Meet your fellow hobbyists, students and practitioners of social media.
6:30pm - 6:45pm Welcome, Introductions and Goals for This Meeting
Todd Van Hoosear of Topaz Partners and Rich Wadsworth of LP&P will kick things off.
6:45pm - 7:30pm 2007: The Year of the Video
We'll focus on two important trends that have made video an integral part of anyone's social media activities:
- Ease of Content Creation--You'll get a quick tour of the tools of the trade and a how-to demonstration of how easy it is to create video content.
- Increase in Business Adoption--Video isn't just for YouTube, and YouTube isn't just for kids. Businesses are successfully using video to reach out to and interact with customers, prospects, investors and other stakeholders.
- Filters, Channels and Viewers--A discussion about finding and connecting with people and the emerging distribution technologies that will make this easier.
We have three special guests speaking about these trends:
- Steve Garfield of Rocketboom and the Boston Media Makers group will discuss the trends and directions of the video, podcast, vlog environments. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes armed with some videotaped content.
- Larry Lawfer, founder and president of YourStorys has been producing compelling testimonial video for corporations, schools and philanthropies for years. Larry will share his experiences in how to create profits, raise awareness, develop an audience and measure results for your organization using video.
- Jason Alcorn of Mindshare has helped dozens of non-profits make better use of video for volunteer training, storytelling, and documentaries. He helps organizations close the distance to their communities of viewers, volunteers, contributors and other stakeholders. Jason will share his learnings on strengthening ties through the use of video.

7:30pm - 8:00pm Breakout Session De-Briefs and Next Steps
Finally, we'll get split into three groups to review our learnings and report back to the group what we found most interesting. You'll get a chance to ask Larry, Steve and Jason your questions.

Directions
Take I-93 N towards CONCORD NH (for about 8 miles) to Exit 37C. Take a right at the set of lights at the end of the exit. Follow road for 1/2 mile to 150 Presidential Way. On the right, you will notice our Lois Paul & Partners sign in front of the building. Visitor parking is located directly in front of the building. If visitor parking is full, visitors may park in the employee parking garage located to the right of the building.
