We're currently looking for sponsors for upcoming events. Please contact programme director Anders Abrahamsson (anders [the-at-sign] slice [the-dot] nu) if you're interested in sponsoring an event--you can suggest a topic and help us with a venue!
We're also looking for great ideas for upcoming events. Please share your thoughts below on possible upcoming events, speakers, sponsors, etc.
Our schedule of events is below. Locations, hosts/sponsors and topics will be listed as they become available. All events are FREE, unless otherwise stated. As agendas become available, we'll add links to them from this page (click on the date). Thanks hopefully to be given soon to our (as of yet...coming!) sponsors, and to everyone on the Leadership team for their hard work to make this schedule possible!
Social Media Club Chapter Support Association - Sweden (SMC CSA Sweden) is now constituted - with two thirds of the interim board being members from Social Media Club Östergötland Directorate - Anders Abrahamsson and Thomas Selig! December 4, right after the SMC Lunch ended, Anders and Thomas joined forces with Anders Sporring (living in Märsta outside Stockholm) and held a constitutional meeting. We now introduce a process where all chapters will be invited in the process to build up this framework. More info to come, stay tuned! Follow #smcswe tag on Twitter for the conversation and updates.

Arbetets Museum (Museum of Work), Norrköping, voted second most beautiful building in Sweden in a big annual poll from Aftonbladet 2001.
Social Media Lunch - Östergötland. December 4 saw the regional première of the first networking lunch, held at Arbetets Museum, Laxholmen Restaurant (Museum of Work, a museum amongst alot other things covering the history of the "Manchester of Sweden", Norrköping industrial history etc). We have decided to have lunches every first Friday in the month, alternating in between Norrköping and Linköping. See coming events! The lunches is the origin of the Social Media Club brand in Sweden, where SMC in Stockholm began with lunches Last Friday every month.
From a public regional demand, we kicked off with a lunch meetup, Dec 4. The special focus of this first lunch was “Social Video” - #SocVid. Our special guest was Anna Lindberg (@annalindberg on Twitter), who now has kicked off a new interactive media format on December 7 - the talkshow 30 Minuter on 24Nt / 24Corren - the local TV channels of NMT. She develops the local TV talkshow to be as interactive and dialogue-oriented with the audience as possible.
Social Media Barbeques - Summer '09 - THE FRIED HASHTAG EVENTS - #smcBBQ global - #smcogtlBBQ our local
- The idea was to "fry three hashtags" and have a mashup for a conversation starter - using the #3tags idea, adding three topical hashtags, for the barbeques choosing the Question: "On Social Media at Large: What shall we converse 2day?". Some input for the convo was given on the Social Media Club Östergötland blog for each and respective event - e. g. slides/articles or just whatever! All else, #unconferencing full fledged, applied.
They all were done in conjunction with Pompom in the Park!
Dates / #3tags:

Sweden Social Web Camp - Aug 21-23, Tjärö, Blekinge, Sweden. This was a big meetup for all in Sweden interested in the Social Web. An "unconference" where we had a whole island for ourselves! One of the topics we brought to the Camp is the proliferation of Social Media Club in Sweden.
Read more about that and the idea of the whole event on the Camp Wiki;
"We’ll meet by a quiet lake, beautiful sea or a red cottage and talk about the social web. Some activities are pre-planned, but the agenda will mostly be set by the participants. Demo your latest project. Start a discussion on a topic you care about. Or present something you learned.
And we do all this barefooted, sipping a cold beer, watching the sunset. And then we gather by the fire and chat late into the Swedish summer night."
Social Media Club Barbeque - No 1 - June 6, 2009 - 6/6 - Folkparken, Norrköping. June 6 - Sweden's National Day, 15.00. We had an open air event in conjunction with the event Pompom in the Park ("Pompom i Parken"), arranged by NEMCOM - Norrköping Electronic Music Community. We marketed our association towards some of the "cultural creatives" locally here in Norrköping, engaged in the music served among the audience, and got visible with a banner, and also a great meetup with some picnic and various types of electronic music to soundtrack some interesting informal conversations on Social Media on the blankets (sun ordered from SMHI that is the Swedish Metreological and Hydrological Institute with Swedish headquarters in the town :). The full story with pictures will be blogged over at http://smcogtl.se soon!
Social Media Club Östergötland - Advancing the Agenda. Reporting back from the Kick-off Workshop. Date/Time: May 21, 23, 15.00 19.30 suggested. Place Jolla Choklad and Dessert. T. B. A. It was just a short constitutional meeting for the not-for-profit association Cloudberry Event that will serve as a supportive administrative association for SMC and maybe also Open Coffee and similar networking / open participation / unconferencing organizations within areas innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, social media and sustainability, especially to serve as an administrative unit when we collect sponsors. We decided for next public event to be on June 6/6, 2009, in Folkparken (see above).
Social Media Club Östergötland - Kick-off - Suggested theme "Social Media + Östergötland = [Why? What? Who? Where? How? When?]". Meeting Format - So-Called "Kipling Café". Details later on Facebook on the meeting process. Purpose: Max collaboration and creativity, to max results and outcome with max participation from everyone to max the collective output. Place: Café Jolla, Norrköping. Date/Time: Saturday, May 9, 13.00 to 15.00.
NOTE: Please tag all blogs, podcasts, vlogs, and photos with smcogtl (short for Social Media Club Östergötland) and socialmediaclub. On twitter, add the hash to the tag to make it a hashtag to trace our evolvement in real-time (#smcogtl - search not only through Twitter Search, use the federated microblog search to search many at once - with identi.ca and national ones like Swedish http://bloggy.se - from one of our Social Media high-profile startups in the region blog/microblog search engine @twingly). If you upload photos to Flickr, we would appreciate you adding them into the Social Media Club pool at http://www.flickr.com/groups/socialmediaclub/. Thank you!
PAST EVENTS
All our past events globally will be viewed on the SMC website. We're in startup process.
Venue recommendations listed so far:
Norrköping Café Jolla (for SMC Cafés - high end coffee, tea and chocolate with access to back-office smaller conference room), Arbetets Muséum (for greater events and meetups in the middle of the old Industrial landscape - the "Worker's Museum" symbolically illustrating the old working environment and conversate the future we co-create in the group and our stakeholders), Elite Grand Hotel (for small- to medium conferences, a classic hotel), Bishops Arms (in conjunction with Elite Grand Hotel, a great pub with ability to have a booked venue "for ourselves")
Linköping? De Klomp (Pub, used for a Noded.Biz Tweetup co-arranged #noded #nodeup). Could Linköping #smcogtl people add something more to the list here?
Sponsors: TBD - we want YOU!

Throw your ideas into the table below. It doesn't matter how crazy they are. We'll consider them all. The scheme of ideas below suggested is inherited from the city startup template page, left untouched. Thanks!
There is a critical mass of bloggers in the region[Norrköping / Linköping], as well as a pioneering set of microbloggers (Norrköping / Linköping) and this is a natural departure for creating a critical mass of people with care and consideration for (the immense opportunities of) social media in the region.

Case studies: Strumpette.com, Nashville is Talking - Too Transparent/Authentic? Are there any issues for people with different identities for work & personal? Are we going to hold people and companies accountable for their words? Tim O'Reilly developed a blogger code of ethics. Are people really policing each other? Is "Authenticity" the same for journalists as it is for bloggers, for individuals, or PR/Corporate agents or entities? Let's define "Authenticity" vs. "Transparency." Is one ever appropriate without the other? If so, when and why?.. |
