NEWS

Social Media Club Chapter Support Association - Sweden (SMC CSA Sweden) is now constituted - with two thirds of the interim board being members from Social Media Club Östergötland Directorate - Anders Abrahamsson and Thomas Selig! December 4, right after the SMC Lunch ended, Anders and Thomas joined forces with Anders Sporring (living in Märsta outside Stockholm) and held a constitutional meeting. We now introduce a process where all chapters will be invited in the process to build up this framework. More info to come, stay tuned! Follow #smcswe tag on Twitter for the conversation and updates.

On twitter, add the hash to the tag to make it a hashtag to trace our evolvement in real-time (#smcogtl - search not only through Twitter Search, use the federated microblog search to search many at once - with identi.ca and national ones like Swedish http://bloggy.se - from one of our Social Media high-profile startups in the region blog/microblog search engine @twingly). If you upload photos to Flickr, we would appreciate you adding them into the Social Media Club pool at http://www.flickr.com/groups/socialmediaclub/. Thank you!

LOCAL LEADERSHIP TEAM/VOLUNTEERS

The Social Media Club Östergötland is looking for help shaping the future of the social media scene in our local/regional "twin-city" area. We have identified four roles that we needed support filling. These five people form the leadership team of the Östergötland group. If you'd be interested in helping one of them, please send an email to Anders Abrahamsson [anders [the-at-sign] slice [the-dot] nu]. Your input on these roles is welcome. As with all the Social Media Club Wiki pages, this one is editable too (the password is "media"). Feel free to add your comments and/or suggestions below the page in our Big Wiki Whiteboard, especially for IDEAS for WHAT WE SHALL DO. This is a "we" organization based on what emerges from the members of it.

IDEAS FOR EVENTS - WHITEBOARD

Throw your ideas into the table below. It doesn't matter how crazy they are. We'll consider them all. The scheme of ideas below suggested is inherited from the city startup template page, left untouched. Thanks!

Note: Already in the loop is preliminary conversation for a "Blogger's Camp Östergötland" [working name], in the Fall - suggested to be one of the core topics to be discussed on the Kick-Off meeting/SMC Östergötland Café (preliminary set Second Saturday in May).

There is a critical mass of bloggers in the region[Norrköping / Linköping], as well as a pioneering set of microbloggers (Norrköping / Linköping) and this is a natural departure for creating a critical mass of people with care and consideration for (the immense opportunities of) social media in the region.

Case studies: Strumpette.com, Nashville is Talking - Too Transparent/Authentic? Are there any issues for people with different identities for work & personal? Are we going to hold people and companies accountable for their words? Tim O'Reilly developed a blogger code of ethics. Are people really policing each other? Is "Authenticity" the same for journalists as it is for bloggers, for individuals, or PR/Corporate agents or entities? Let's define "Authenticity" vs. "Transparency." Is one ever appropriate without the other? If so, when and why?..
