2009 SCHEDULE

SMC Tampa Bay will meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month at venues yet to be determined. Length of meeting will be held to 90 minutes unless otherwise specified.

 

Oct 21 - Chapter Kick Off Meeting! 6:30PM - 7:30PM. Location: TBD.

PAST EVENTS

 

Oct 8 - Interim Director conference call.

  • Volunteers for roles (see the leadership page for more information).
  • It was agreed that Facebook will be the platform to schedule all meetings and events. 
  • It was agreed that Facebook will be used for all communication, the wiki page will be used for static information
  • Meeting agenda was reviewed and agreed on for the 10/21 meeting

Sept 23 - Follow-up meeting at Macaroni Grill to discuss venues, finalize topics, review list of guest speakers and determine leadership team.  Interim Directors were chosen based on attendance and willingness to help guide the launch of the chapter. The interim team have all agreed to put the Director positions up for review once the chapter is up and running, venues are booked, meeting topics are agreed upon and membership is beginning to grow.

If anyone is available for Wednesday's chapter call please feel free to join in. We've had several email threads over the past couple of months to try and coordinate the group but I think it would be easier if we took a few minutes to discuss the next steps in getting the chapter together formally. I've also posted this on the Facebook wall if you want to add a comment there.

Ideas and suggestions have been added to the ideas page. We're also working on a blog to cover the meeting minutes so everyone has a chance to participate. More to follow and we're getting closer to a launch date for the chapter.

Looking forward to the launch. Unfortunately, Wed nights are hit or miss for me. Any plans for some of the chapter meetings to be held during the day on a weekday, such as the PRSA meetings? Hope to see lots of interesting things here. I'm leading the SM efforts for my org, so I need all the help I can get.
