This month’s Social Media Club Seattle (SMC Seattle) meet-up is coming up quick and we hope you’ll join us on June 30 in Seattle. Although there is no formal agenda, the meet-up is focused on educational discussions about social media use within the firewall. Come share best practices and meet fellow social media enthusiasts.

More about this month’s education focus: We talk a lot about social media for external use, but now internal social media tools are becoming critical for business success too. Workforces are becoming more dispersed and we’re moving deeper into the Knowledge Economy where what a company knows and how quickly it can access it will be the number one key to success.

Social media inside the firewall builds the bridges necessary to address challenges like these because it connects employees and helps companies rapidly process information, locate expertise, build knowledge, collaborate and innovate.

A big thanks Allyis for sponsoring this month’s event!

Kirkland-based Allyis specializes in helping companies set up systems to share information internally, including using social media tactics like Intranet social networking sites, SharePoint, blogs, wikis, social search and video. A thorough social media strategy blends both external and internal tools. Use the external tools to listen and gain insight. Use the internal tools to “turn insight into change (Groundswell, Li, Bernoff).”

Allyis’s President Ethan Yarbrough www.twitter.com/Ethany blogs about social media at Emergingwebmemo.com http://www.emergingwebmemo.com
