  1. The agenda for this January meeting will be ... the New Media Press Release.
  2. NOTE: I'd like to have some feedback on the New Media Press Release*. A number of you (media people and PR people) and Francine have had separate conversations about the New Media Press Release, or more generically, about how to contact bloggers and podcasters and other online media or how to make information available to the media. Social Media Club has posted a proposed new press release template for doing this at http://www.socialmediarelease.org/. It's in the process of being worked on all over the country. I feel like eventually it will cause some changes, so I'd like to be on top of them. Anybody want to take a look at it and help me?

Question: The Boston Club has had some success in finding sponsors for single events. Is this something the Phoenix club can consider?

 

I am the co-president of the Devry Mac User Group and have lots of sponsors. The major requirements are as follows

* need at least five members (check)

* the club needs a website, wiki counts I guess (check)

* we need to have face-to-face meetings at a semi-regular basis (check)

* The club organizer needs to fill out the registration forms (hint,hint Francine)

The following sponsors are more into social media although there may be others that we could get in the future and I will update the wiki and add them. For now here are the sponsors (user group pages) go there and you are just a click and a few keyboard strokes away from sponsorship.
